The North End Women’s Centre is a not-for-profit organization that has been helping families in Winnipeg’s north end for over 25 years. Bios Architecture – a progressive young architecture firm here in Winnipeg – won the contract to construct a mixed-use facility for them that would function as both a housing and teaching facility. As a construction company, it is rewarding for us to participate in projects that carry with them a purpose that is greater than the day-to-day machinations of business as we know it. There are needs in certain parts of our city, and when funding is made available to address these needs, it is often the small companies – such as ourselves – that are given a chance to bid these projects.
